A SANTACO programme
Hlokomela
Hlokomela means “look after” — and that is the heart of the programme: safer roads, healthier drivers and commuters who get home safely.
About the programme
Taking care of the people who keep the region moving
Hlokomela is SANTACO’s safety and wellness programme for the minibus taxi industry. It runs across all nine provinces through Hlokomela champions in the regions, working at taxi ranks, on busy routes and at festive-season hotspots.
Every year SANTACO steps up Hlokomela over the festive season, with roadworthiness inspections, safety-awareness activations and commuter-wellness drives, so that every traveller gets home safely. Through the year, Hlokomela days at ranks bring road safety, customer care and healthy-living sessions to drivers and owners.
